Palm Springs Day 4

Today was cool for me. Not so much for Sherry who had a full day of exhibiting and then 'schmoozing' afterwards. Turns out her day would be around 16 hours long or so. Yuck! I'd hate to have to be 'on' for that long.

I bummed around editing a few basketball teams, watching some espn pregame then thought I should head down for and check out the hotel before lunchtime and see what was around.

I walked around the pools - and it looked pretty sparse in terms of people. There were 2 large pools from what I could see and two spas. The hotel also had a cool inside docking area for a boat. I wodner how far the boat took people. Also on the bottom level there were heaps of bird cages.

These two birds wree cool. They just wanted to look at you from whatever side you moved to. This involved them commando crawling upside down across the top of the cage. I must get my act together and start uploading video files to my blogs.

There were a few other cool birds, but none up to the first two I saw.

On the second level was the lobby including bar, starbucks and elevators. Oh yeah - down the bottom level on the inside was how you got to all the restaurants.

After digesting the layout I went upstairs for a bit before returning for some sunbathing/swimming/alice in chains ipod action/magazine reading. It was ncie to be out an soaking up the sun and just relaxing by myself.

In the afternoon I went for my first drive by myself. Wow! It was really cool and, dont't get me wrong I love Sherry's company, but it was ncie to be out feeling a bit more independant. I paged downstairs first off to get the car brought around. The girl had no idea what 'How are you going?' meant. Anyway got downstairs and tipped the dude a fiver.

Looking over from the Pool - across the lake to a golf hole

Then I plugged in Ralph's. Drove there with Alice in Chains playing on the ipod (just through its own speaker) - got some nibblies for tonight's big NFL Game - between the Hawks..and the Swans...That ball-chaffing Tour de France cycling classic is on again.. We'll have highlights for you of week two!\...as the riders approach the halfway mark.

Nah tonight the Packers and Vikings are playing at the Metrodome. A massive game in my mind. You have the former Packers QB Brett Favre (one of the best ever) going against his old team for the first time and playing for a major rival of the Packers, the Vikings. Favre didn't leave Green Bay on good terms, and was not the most helpful with new QB Aaron Rodgers. So tonight's game has a lot going for it.

After Ralph's went to get some Pizza. I had plugged in pizza\into the GPS and saw that there was a place called 'Donato's' so I thought I should head there just for Donut's sake. Wouldn't you know it? It was closed. Just like Donut's. All advertising, but does nto deliver. hahah. nah respect to Donut.

So then plugged in All Pro Pizza, by this stage the GPS had stopped giving me directions so I had to pay close attention to the screen. Anyway eventually found it and pulled in. Turns out I should have just stayed there to watch the game. Pizza, beers, 3 big plasmas, guys giving out raffle tickets. It would have been great. But yeah i got my take away $26.95 pizza and headed home.

The GPS started talking again. But in German! Got home and chucked on the game. The reception was pretty ordinary in parts, but the pizza made up for it. It was a good game, pity about the result. Still, Rodgers had done well only to be let down by his offensive line, while Favre had done really well too throwing for 3 touchdowns.

I had bought some beers at the Supermarket, intending to drink them during the game. I'm a big an of Newcastle stout so bought some of those. But at the hotel room there was no bottle opener. Never fear - I used the door handle of the room to open them. So it a bit of a bashing process.

Late at night - around 11.30 Sherry got back and it was decided we were all going swimming! Leslie came out of her robe , sort of lookinhg like a boxer. Sherry and I were going to be her entourage and give her a big entrance to the pool area. haha. Leslie and I had a quick splash in the big pookl and then we all sat in the spa. The 'I want to be Murray' blog should really be started after today. Great day.
