There are a lot of things to be pleased about in Chi-town. Since taking the Heat to the brink back in 06 under Skiles you could say expectations have been lowered for this team. IF you look at their roster they have an extremely young line-up with an abundance of talent that will likely become solid players as their careers progress.
However, you could also argue that the only real star on this team is Rose, putting up outstanding numbers for a rookie in the PG slot. Gordon's play has been poor, Hughes needs to be moved, and Luol Deng looks completely lost. The Bulls need to build around Rose, Thomas and Noah and work out how to package their remaining expendablke talent to bring in a solid player.
This team is still a work in progress, and it appears John Paxson knows this, bringing in rookie coach Vinny Del Negro. But it cannot be overlooked that it is time the Bulls returned to their former status as an elite team in the East. The Lakers Pistons, Suns and Heat have all turned it around in 10 years or less. Where as the Bulls are still languishing, perhaps only surpassed by the New York Knicks as the worst managed franchise in the last 10 years.
The next 3 years will be interesting for the Bulls.
What's missing - an identity. Work out which players you want to keep moving forward, utilise them and trade or free up cap space.
