Should have taken a photo of those Ribs

Well i actually slept in today. I got up at 5.00 am.
We got a lif tdown to the U-Save car hire with Janet. The dude behind the counter was wearing a Detroit Lions pullover. The car is pretty nice. We then webt ti the Office to pick up Leslie.
I read the funniest artcile about pliticial turmoil in Sacramnto featuring someone known now as Spanky Duval. Apparantly he recounted his recent sexual escapades to a colleague before chairiing a committee but didn't realise his open mic was on. hahah - so everyone heard. No toinky that but KCAL has vision of him recounting it. Hahaha - Reminds of Frank Drebin taking a massive leak in the Naked Gun.
We then had to run the sprinler gauntlet back to the car. Then on to the airport. It looks more like a railway station than an airport. Still maintains that Spanish theme too. Now we were off to Cosco.
Sheeeyat! We spent over 450 smackers. But that did include a GPS Navigator and about $100 worth of Dvd's. But still - never have i been more stocked up with shit in my lfie. 8 packets of cookies, enough pistachio nuts to fill one of those kiddy ball pools, macadamia's, grain chips, 4 massive bags of jerky, seeds were exposed so i had to get them too, plus choc brownies, and scallops for dinner, and ribs for lunch. Goo ssamples too - the chicken nachos Resisted teh urge to buy clam chowder, olives and apple strudels So yeah - pat on the back for only spending an absolute s&&$load on other things.
U p at the register they looked at thae Costco card and then at my license. Hmmm We have a problem ehre, hahah - Luckily they let us through - i mean geez we had that much bloodhy stuff they weren;t really going to say know. But it would have been a waste of time as well as embarassing, which it already was. We were luckty, I'll let you through jsut this time - we couldnt get the vodka but anyhow. Got a $1.50 hotdog afterwards +drink - good value plus good dog. That saving did little to ease the pain from that register raping i'd just received. Full jerky.
The ribs for lunch more than made up for it. My god. Bestest ever. I rate it as one of the top 5 things i've ever tasted. Even though I;ve had them before - they tasted that good this time. The meat was soft - there was heaps of it on each rib - the sauce wasn't runny, it sort of clotted up on each rib allowing you to get full value for your rib. I'd say i enjoyed it more than the clam chowder, and the shake. These are my 4 top foods in america - pork back ribs, clam chowder, teryaki jerky, and choc shakes - although not a food - maybe Philly melts???
Sherry then went back to work and i got dropped off down at the shops. I boguht somre more patches and contra 4. I'ver now listened to these 2 same Black Keys songs about 4 times while i type this blog entry but its damn good either way. Im going to watch Season 6 of Two and a Half Men.
Sherry got home at around 5. I was pretty tipsy and didnt want to go anyway, but after some of Sherry's subtle persuasion we decided to go for a drive up to the hills. We headed along State St and then turned off into the foothills. We couldnt find our way to the top and just ended up going around where Darryl lives. Much of the natural landscdape was blackened by the recent fires. Some houses were lucky and had escaped while others only 100 metres away or so were burnt to the ground. We then headed to Peabody Stadium to watch the high school football game, we got there and nobody was there. Only a few cars were there - very impressive school though. We decided to drive past the USCB college stadium near the harbour to see if the game was on there. And it was!! So we walked in and the game was jsut about to start. Awesome timing.
On the second play of the game the Bishop Cardinals ran the ball in for a 72 yard touchdown. So this is high school football. Kicking and punting seem to be hard skills for the players. The Cardinals kicker seemed to really struggle often squibbing the ball less than 20 yards. That gave huge advantage to the opposition who as the game went on, begun to run the ball really well through misdirection plays with their full back.

For a high school game they do it really well. Great scoreboards. A public address calling the game, radio broadcasters, police up the back and an ambulance on stand by. Any of that at a high school Aussie Rules game? And not only that but the playing surface is in awesome knick. The cheerleaders go nuts to. Their chants weren't the best, the blue team were doing human pyramids and and cartwheels - making the cardinals cheerleaders look like the young Dandenong Rangers cheerleaders.

One of the parents in front of us started ttalking to a guy about his trip to Australia. That was pretty funny to hear. He was raving on about how cool it was, but to him the whole thing just seemed so unreal. We left just before the end the game because it was so cold.

The scallops didnt taste good for tea. But it was late and my tastebuds had been spoiled with scotch earlier in the afternoon.
