Tuesday 28th October
I got up early again and played a full game of Impossible Mission. It is even better than I remember 'Destroy him my robots.'
I left home at 10.30 to meet Sherry outside the Sandbar at 12. We ate at the natural cafe. I had nachos grande and a chocolate shake. I then went to the games shot and chatted to Reury the bizarre Irishmen who owns the place. We talked about the new electronic trivial pursuit game that Sherry wanted and then onto more important matters. Basketball. He was a mad Lakers fan and it turns out his two least favourite teams are Phoenix and Boston.
I then bought 2k7 baseball for the DS. Its crap and I'll return it tomorrow. I could have bought Power Pros or Pinball. I then went to Cantwell's market and bopught some drinks. I then settled in for the night and watched Opening Night of the NBA on TNT for the 2008-2009 season.
Boston were playing at home to Cleveland and before the game they were going to be presented with their rings and the championship banner was going to be raised. Paul; Pierce was quite emotional when he received his ring and it was a great moment.
The game itself was pretty sloppy to vegin with but there were some great highlights. Lebron soared for an alleyoop lay-in.. He was so high. He caught it and layed it in with his left. James also had two other big dunks but still can't shoot free throws. Not good enough in my opinion for the supposed next big thing now in his 6th season.Leon Powe had a massive dunk over Delante West and in my opinion Paul Pierce kicked Lebron's butt.
Following that the Lakers played the Blazers. I hadn't seen the Blazers play in about a year. This game was to be Greg Oden's first game and he injured his foot. 0 pts. Other players to do that are Nash, Bryant and Doug Collins. hahaha. Oden looks like a beast on the defensive end though. Also the Blazers had a Spaniard, Rudy Fernandez, who looks real good. Ariza also looked good for the Lakers. Kobe was amazing in the 3rd quarter after getting shoulder bumped by Joel Pryzbilla. He had some nice moves, drop steps, up and unders as only Kobe can do. Geez i was popping off heaps. It must have been the beans in the nachos.
