Heading out we saw a number of other casinos - The Sahara, Circus Circus (which is where Sherry's Mum stayed) and a bunch of dodgy white 2 storey motels straight out of the movies.
We had issues getting out of town and even more whenb we decided we needed a coffee fix. For about half an hour and several U-turns we got our latte's and some Subway. Chicken Parma's or something.
We rhen continued on what would be a long drive. Not only distance wise, but for some reason the Interstate turned into the Monash carpark in the middle of the desert. At one point we saw people pulled over with their deck chairs sitting on the side of the road. It would have been annoying if people had slowed one just becasue these people were on the side of the road, and even moe annoying if those people specifically pulled over because they knew it would annoy people. Another guy had to pee, and heaps of cars would have seen him run up the embarkment on the way to his secret slash.
On the way back we also played word games and stopped into Peggy Sue's Diner. The SATNAV kept us east of L.A and it was only when we got to Ventura that we met up with the Intersate.
We stopped at VONS Supermarket. They are filled with frozen meals. There weren't many chips or biscuits for sale which was suprising, but there was heaps of orange cheese.
In three days away it had gotten colder in Santa Barabara and apparantly they had rain on Friday. Sherry and I watched a movie when we got home called 'Fun with Dick & Jane'. It starred Jim Carey and Tia Leoni and was about a couple who had really bad luck.
